The UK’s National Proof of Age Standards Ccheme has been working towards creating a digital proof of age scheme that will be universally accepted across retail and hospitality business in the UK.
The National Digital Proof of Age Scheme is a government-backed initiative designed to provide a standardised and universally accepted method of age verification for retail and hospitality businesses. It allows individuals to prove their age quickly and securely using digital proof of age providers accredited against industry defined PASS standards.
The scheme will approve digital proof of age providers once accredited against the PASS standards which provides consumers the choice of suppliers. You will be able to register with your chosen supplier to create your digital proof of age credentials through smart phone devices. At the point where age verification is required, consumers will be able to simply present their digital proof of age credentials, which can be verified instantly by staff or self-service devices.
